Biography
Denis Tremblay was born in Montreal, Quebec. At a young age he began learning ballroom dancing and even studied Jazz and Ballet with the “Russian Ballet of Montreal” and “Les Grands Ballets Canadiens” to augment his ballroom and latin training. He went on to live and train in dancesport for more than ten years in England.
Now based in Vancouver, Canada, Denis trains current and future Canadian & North American Champions and aspiring talents at all levels all across Canada as well as in the United States. We are fortunate to have him guest teaching at Viva Dance.
Accomplishments
- Undefeated Canadian Amateur Champion (Standard / Latin).
- Holder of 13 Canadian Professional Championships (Standard / Latin + 10 Dance).
- First North American (with Mirielle Veilleux) to win at the Blackpool Dance Festival.
- Twice winner of the British Professional Rising Star Latin Championships (Blackpool Dance Festival) – Only Canadian to reach the Grand Finals of the British open Professional Championships (Standard).
- Only North American to place in the ” Top Three ” of two different World Professional Championships (Standard + 10-dance).
- Guest performer of the “Duel of the Giants Cabaret” in “Dance Liason” (with Adele Preston, David Sycamore and Denise Weavers) at the London Royal Albert Hall International Championships.
- Performed with Madonna in Allan Parker’s movie ” Evita” and with Jennifer Lopez in “Shall we dance.”
- Guest lecturer at Blackpool’s World Congress, the world’s most prestigious congress.
- Has taught and performed in more than 26 countries on 5 continents throughout his extensive career.
